The Center for STEM Education is pleased to offer the i2STEMed School Outreach, a science content and curriculum support program for K-12 classrooms. Through the Center for STEM Education (i2STEMed), materials and supplies are provided to support active and engaged STEM classrooms throughout Southeast Georgia. 

 

 

 

The i2STEMed School Outreach program offers a wide variety of consumable and non-consumable materials for use in the classroom. Our inventory includes STEM and STEAM kits with activities, materials, and supplies based on topics which align to the Georgia Standards of Excellence.  

All materials are available for a duration of two weeks. Some materials may have a renewal or extension available. All equipment, teaching aids, kits, and non-consumable materials including packaging are due back in the same condition as received on the indicated due date. All items are to be returned to the Georgia Southern i2STEMed School Outreach program prior to being checked out by the next member. 

STEM Nights

In the coming 2024-25 School Yr., i2STEMed will be limited on our availability for any on-site hands on STEM education presentations for STEM Nights and/or for student/parent nights or events. A request of 30 days in advance is required.

We will have STEM Night Kits available for check out for your school personnel to implement. Please contact i2STEMed directly at  stem@georgiasouthern.edu or 912-478-8650 for more information.

Participation is based on a membership structure that allows flexibility of involvement to meet the needs of the district systems, individual schools, and teachers.  

Please follow the directions below to begin your membership process.

Step 1:  Check with your school district to determine your membership level and/or type.

Step 2: Complete and submit the School Outreach Membership Form .  Submit the completed form to the email listed below. 

**A membership form is required to be completed by any person requesting materials, and signed by the principal.

Membership Levels 

District Membership 2024-2025

If an entire district/county participates, the fee will be based on the student population. Materials will be available to all STEM classrooms in the K-12 schools of that system. Any STEM teacher in the system may request and check out equipment throughout the current school year.

15,001 or more students: $5000 yearly membership fee

10,000-15,000 students: $4000 yearly membership fee

5000-9999 students: $3000 yearly membership  fee

Under 5,000 students: $2000 yearly membership  fee
 

School Membership

If the district/county does not participate, but an individual school chooses to participate, there will be a $1500 fee per school. Any STEM teacher in the school may request and check out equipment throughout the school year.

Teacher Membership

If neither the district/county nor the school participates, an individual STEM teacher may sign up for $250, which includes a one-year membership for the materials for a classroom of 30 students. An additional $2 fee will be necessary for requested materials for more than 30 students per class.
